Mono-Green Elves just received two huge upgrades from Magic: The Gathering | The Hobbit! Woodland Weavemaster gives the deck explosive mana generation while Cantankerous Keepers can refill our hand with Elves for almost no mana.
Today we’re taking the new Hobbit Elves into MTG Arena Standard and combining them with Llanowar Elves, Elvish Archdruid, Imperious Perfect, Formidable Speaker and Craterhoof Behemoth for an explosive go-wide strategy.
Michelangelo’s Technique fills our Collected Company-style role, looking eight cards deep and putting up to two creatures with a combined mana value of six directly onto the battlefield. With Sneak, we can even reduce the cost and start producing some seriously explosive turns.
Woodland Weavemaster is our new mana engine, growing whenever another Elf enters and converting that power into mana. Cantankerous Keepers gives Elves something the archetype desperately wants: a way to reload after dumping our hand onto the battlefield.
Add Selfless Safewright for protection, Tyvar, the Pummeler as another way to turn a huge board into lethal, and Craterhoof Behemoth at the top end, and Mono-Green Elves can snowball incredibly quickly.
