Brian Kibler completely blew me away with a card I used to think was kinda…meh.

We were playing Commander at Home, and he taps Selvala, Explorer Returned—you know, the one that reveals everyone’s top card, gives you green mana for each nonland revealed, then everyone draws a card and you gain a life?

Yeah… I never liked giving my opponents free cards. But Brian? He made it look genius.

He taps Selvala, hits three nonlands, and just like that—bam—he’s got 3 extra green mana. What does he do?

He slams down Torsten, Founder of Benalia.
When Torsten enters, you look at the top 7 cards of your library and grab all the creatures and lands you find. That’s not just card draw—that’s a strategic refresh.

Now his hand is loaded with new plays. Oh—and when Torsten dies? He gets seven 1/1 tokens.

Wow!
