The Cosmic Cube has arrived in MTG Arena Standard, and this new Golgari Control deck is ready to put its villainous powers to work!
Construct a Cosmic Cube creates a 2/1 Villain with menace whenever we draw our second card each turn. Once we assemble seven Villains, the Cube lets us control our opponent during their next turn! Unholy Annex keeps the cards flowing, repeatedly triggers the Cube, and helps support the deck’s lifegain synergies.
We are also testing The Coming of Galactus, which destroys a nonland permanent, drains the opponent, and eventually gives us a massive 16/16 Galactus with trample. Galactus may have summoning sickness, but it is still an enormous threat that can begin destroying lands whenever it attacks.
The rest of the deck plays a straightforward Golgari Control game with Assassin’s Trophy, Hex, Triumph, graveyard control, card draw, lifegain, and efficient removal to survive long enough for our new Marvel finishers to take over.
