Every sacrifice hurts them. 💀 This NEW Mono-Black Sacrifice deck turns Clues, Treasures, creatures and artifacts into damage with The Sackville-Bagginses and Susurian Voidborn!
Today we’re playing a new Mono-Black Sacrifice deck in MTG Arena Standard Best-of-One, built around The Sackville-Bagginses from Magic: The Gathering | The Hobbit.
The Sackville-Bagginses lets us sacrifice creatures or artifacts for value and turns every sacrificed token into direct damage. Pair that with Susurian Voidborn, which drains our opponent whenever our creatures or artifacts die, and suddenly almost everything in the deck becomes ammunition.
Obsessive Pursuit continually produces Clue tokens that can draw us cards while also rewarding us for sacrificing permanents with huge +1/+1 counter swings and lifelink.
Those sacrificed artifacts also make Syr Ginger, the Meal Ender increasingly dangerous, giving the deck another way to convert all of that sacrifice value into lethal damage.
Then we have plenty of ways to cash everything in:
• Umbral Collar Zealot repeatedly sacrifices creatures and artifacts while fixing our draws
• Rottenmouth Viper can consume a massive board at once
• Fanatical Offering converts expendable permanents into cards
• Stir Up Trouble becomes extremely efficient removal when we have something available to sacrifice
• Callous Inspector and Greedy Freebooter help keep our sacrifice engine stocked
The result is a Mono-Black Aristocrats deck that can drain the opponent without attacking, grind through removal with Clues and card advantage, or simply build a massive threat and smash through combat.
