What happens when we remove Badgermole, Ouroboroid and the entire ramp package from one of Standard’s popular Selesnya archetypes?
We get a lower-curve Selesnya Counters deck built to attack immediately.
This MTG Arena Standard Best-of-One build replaces the slower four-drop plan with Michelangelo, Weirdness to 11, Agent Bishop, Man in Black, Warden of the Inner Sky and Skyknight Squire. Rather than spending our opening turns ramping, we begin distributing +1/+1 counters and building an evasive battlefield from the start.
Warden of the Inner Sky and Skyknight Squire provide flying, while Frenzied Baloth and Leatherhead, Swamp Stalker help force damage through with trample. Practiced Offense grows the entire team and can grant double strike for an explosive finish.
Sheltered by Ghosts and Seam Rip give us exile-based removal, allowing the deck to clear opposing threats without abandoning its aggressive game plan.
The established Badgermole and Ouroboroid version may have more late-game power, but this build is designed to punish slow starts, curve out more consistently and end matches before the opponent can fully establish their strategy.
