Rakdos Scam has been the bane of Modern players’ existence, but now, we’re bringing the archetype to MTG Arena! By playing out Prototype creatures in the early game and blinking or reanimating them later, we get to cheat the mana curve and stomp our opponents!
It’s time for another Midweek Magic event, this week in a special variant of Alchemy that gives Cascade to the first spell we cast each turn! Not only are we going to cheap out enormous mechanical monsters, but we’ll be 2-for-1ing our foes with removal and value cards!
Overall, our record this time was 3-1, dropping the one game to a slow opener when our opponent flooded with early value. While this archetype isn’t meta, the cute interaction between scam effects and Prototype creatures worked really well, especially in a meta where Go For the Throat is the top removal spell!
