It’s time for another week of Midweek Magic, the MTG Arena series where we compete in various formats to win individual rare cards and cosmetics! This week, it’s Historic Brawl time, and we’re playing Narset, Enlightened Exile to grow a huge board and steal spells from our opponent’s graveyard!
Narset decks typically run lots of noncreature token generators, then pump them with prowess to win the game. This deck runs a little differently, mostly focusing on tempo plays, removal and card draw effects to generate card advantage, then recasting them from our own graveyard to double up on our OP spells! We can also steal our opponents’ spells if we have no graveyard of if they run an effect that we can take advantage of!
Overall, we went 3-2 today, only losing to Nicol Bolas, Dragon God and Shelob, Child of Ungoliant. Both of these decks were able to overwhelm us with hard removal spells and better big mana ramp payoffs respectively. The Kiora nd Tom Bombadil decks were too slow to catch up to our value train, and we were able to hold back Etali long enough to not make it matter by the time it hit the battlefield.
