Stone-Giant of High Pass turns every artifact into 4 damage in this original Gruul Combo brew for MTG Arena Standard Best of One!

We’re combining the new Stone-Giant of High Pass from The Hobbit with Agatha of the Vile Cauldron, Agatha’s Soul Cauldron and Crime Novelist to build a sacrifice engine where our damage activations can effectively refund their own mana.

Stone-Giant normally lets us pay 2R and sacrifice an artifact to deal 4 damage to any target. Agatha of the Vile Cauldron can reduce that activated ability all the way down to a single red mana — and whenever we sacrifice an artifact, Crime Novelist gives that red mana right back!

That means cards like Ragged Short Spear, Melded Moxite and Brass’s Tunnel-Grinder aren’t just helping us dig through the deck — they eventually become ammunition.

Agatha’s Soul Cauldron takes things even further by giving Stone-Giant’s activated ability to our creatures with +1/+1 counters, while also letting us recycle other useful activated abilities from creatures like Misty Knight, Gene Pollinator and Rust Harvester.
