The Hobbit’s Wolves just keep coming! Today we’re playing Golgari Wolf Tribal in Mythic-ranked MTG Arena Standard Best-of-One.

This removal-heavy Golgari Midrange deck is built around Chief Warg’s Company and Head of the Hunt. Instead of immediately flooding the battlefield, we slow the opponent down, remove their best creatures and steadily assemble an increasingly dangerous pack of Wolf tokens.

Virulent Emissary gains life whenever our other creatures enter, allowing every Wolf and Wolf token to help stabilize us against aggressive decks. That gives us the time needed for Chief Warg’s Company and Head of the Hunt to take over the battlefield.

Bejeweled Warg supplies early pressure, Treasure and additional Wolf scaling. Torgal, A Fine Hound rewards our creature-heavy construction, while Mosswood Dreadknight provides the recurring card advantage expected from a Golgari Midrange deck.

Requiting Hex, Shoot the Sheriff, Assassin’s Trophy and Cease // Desist give us an extensive removal package. Overprotect keeps an important creature alive or forces through additional damage, and Liliana, Dreadhorde General gives the deck a devastating late-game plan.

This Golgari Wolves build combines tribal synergy, life gain, removal and token production into a Standard deck that can pressure opponents early without sacrificing its ability to win longer games.
