The Notary Hobbits can generate an ABSURD amount of mana — so today we’re building an entire Selesnya Halfling fellowship around them in MTG Arena Standard Best of One!
The plan is to ramp into The Notary Hobbits, use their token copies as targets for For the Common Good, and start multiplying our Hobbits. The bigger the fellowship becomes, the more colorless mana The Notary Hobbits can generate — giving us the resources to keep expanding the board and eventually slam Banner of Kinship for a massive payoff.
And the flavor is almost too perfect.
The new Hobbit cards are working alongside an older Magic card that literally uses FELLOWSHIP counters. Banner of Kinship rewards us for filling the battlefield with Halflings, while Belladonna Took fits naturally into both the Hobbit and token strategies.
We’ve also got Changelings like Chomping Changeling, Mutable Explorer, Firdoch Core and Three Tree Mascot helping tie the creature-type synergies together.
Copy the Hobbits.
Generate ridiculous mana.
Build the Fellowship.
Make them HUGE.
