Azorius Auras gets a hilarious new MTG Arena Standard trick with Secret Invasion—exile their best creature and turn one of ours into a copy with ward 2!
This is still the fast, evasive Azorius Auras strategy built around Optimistic Scavenger, Ethereal Armor and protective flash Auras, but Secret Invasion gives the deck an entirely new way to swing a game. Instead of merely removing the opponent’s biggest threat, we can turn that threat against them.
Super Intelligence helps replenish our hand as we enchant our creatures, while Kid Loki rewards our +1/+1 counter plan by giving modified creatures hexproof. Silent Hallcreeper and Skyward Spider provide evasive bodies, and Shardmage’s Rescue, Feather of Flight and Fae Flight let us develop or protect threats at instant speed.
The archetype itself is familiar, but Secret Invasion is an incredibly fun addition—and the deck is performing just as well as you would expect from Azorius Auras.
