It’s time for Midweek Magic, the weekly event on MTG Arena where players battle it out for rare card and cosmetic rewards! Wilds of Eldraine has brought the Alchemy renewal for this week’s event, so let’s explore the brand new format with a deck that’s going to be banned!
Mono black is poised to be the best deck in the format until something shakes up the meta! Sheoldred, the Apocalypse and Liliana of the Veil are still legal, and the Lord of the Rings set adds in Orcish Bowmasters, Nazgul and The One Ring for even more power! Coupled with Virtue of Persistence and Beseech the Mirror from the new set, and we have a recipe for eternal legal shenanigans!
In our attempt to win free goodies, we ended up going 3-0, mostly stumbling into random victories through good draws or salty ropers. Until WotC interjects, I firmly believe this deck will overrun Alchemy for the foreseeable future!
