It’s time for MTG Arena’s Midweek Magic once again, this week for the Alchemy format! In order to participate this week, I converted over my Standard Simic Toxic deck, and it turned out to be amazing!
Simic Toxic, aka Poison Ivy, is a deck archetype that aims to play Venerated Rotpriests, then target them over and over with hexproof and indestructible spells like Slip Out the Back and Tamiyo’s Protection. We also add in Ivy, Gleeful Spelltheif to copy our spells and double our Rotpriest triggers!
We only had to play 3 games this time around because we popped off hard! We were able to consistently take out our opponents by turn 4 or 5 with a critical mass of targeting spells and Phyrexian Druids!
